Spring Makeup Looks
The look for spring is pretty, and my favorite way to get it is with a hint of pink somewhere on the face. During New York Fashion Week, all the designers -- from Badgley Mischka to Lilly Pulitzer -- wanted pink. We made it fresh by playing with textures from creamy to sheer and shimmery.
Here are my picks for the season:
A sun-kissed face: Everyone looks better with a bronzed glow. Use a fluffy brush to dust bronzer on all the places the sun naturally hits your face: your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. Be sure to choose a bronzer that blends easily and adds a warm tint to your face. If it looks too orange, it may be too dark, so go one shade lighter. Then, add a soft pop of pink or rosy blush on your cheeks.
Shimmery eyes: The trick to shimmer that flatters is finding a texture that's sheer enough to let skin show through. Wear shimmery cream formulas on bare eyelids. And to avoid looking frosted, don't layer shimmer on shimmer.
Natural lips: Every woman should have that perfect lipstick color that looks great even when she's not wearing any other makeup. This season, I'm playing up the natural color of the lips. To get soft definition (and because there's nothing worse than an obvious line between your lipstick and your liner), line lips with a creamy lip liner -- after you apply your lipstick. This will also keep your lipstick from feathering.
