Don't just plant beds, plant chairs too! If you have an old wood chair that's seen better days, give it new life in the garden. With a screwdriver, remove the seat of the chair, along with any horizontal reinforcements, so the seat is completely open. Paint the chair your desired color using an exterior latex or a spray paint formulated for outdoor use. When dry, protect your paint job with a spray of clear polyurethane. Staple chicken wire to create a "basket" in the seat of the chair. Cover the chicken wire with coconut lining and fill with potting soil. Plant with colorful blossoms and water well.
