Beautiful Bolsters

These charming bolsters were made from ordinary dish towels. Because the sides are already hemmed, assembly is easy. First, buy bolster inserts that are at least 6 to 8 inches shorter than the length of the towel. For the simplest style, wrap the towel around the insert and tie each end with ribbon or thin rope. For a more finished look, sew buttons onto one of the long ends of the towel and then sew loops of embroidery thread onto the facing side to catch the buttons. Then cinch the ends as before.
