Cunningham removed several of the upper cabinets and replaced them with open teak shelving. She restyled the rest of the cabinets by nailing cut-to-fit MDF (medium density fiberboard) baseboards to the existing door fronts. She then spruced up the walls with inexpensive V-groove pine paneling.
