It's no surprise that Balch's walls used to be very pink -- she's not shy about her love for the girly-girl color. "But after eight years with a pink office, I wanted a change," she says. "I like this shade, Sherwin-Williams's Contented, for its complexity -- it's in between green, blue, and gray." But the room wouldn't have felt right without hints of her favorite hue, such as the pouf by the desk and the patterned rug. She has two toddlers who like to hang out here, too, so she added the pint-size table and chairs to finish the makeover. Eleanor, 3, and August, 17 months, can color or play at the table while Balch blogs.
