Nowhere to Relax

When Ladies' Home Journal first spoke to Dana and Sally Shanower, their living room had been nearly empty for years. Thanks to super-busy job schedules for the adults, after-school athletic commitments for the kids, and a home-renovation project that never seemed to end, the Shanowers had never furnished the room. As a result, Dana and Sally and their three daughters -- Ashton, Lauren (pictured), and Madeline -- had nowhere to relax. The room was an embarrassment and a source of stress, rather than a place to unwind.
