Fall may be on the way, but we've got tips for creating the feel of a sunroom in any space that gets good light. If a room has window treatments, the first step is to maximize the sunshine by removing them or switching opaque curtains for sheers. Also important: Let the outdoors inspire your decor by choosing a bright palette, vivid floral fabrics, and organic materials, such as sea-grass rugs or wicker furniture. Last, bring in natural elements that conjure a garden -- think beyond the usual potted plants and opt for easy-to-care-for topiaries, flats of green grass, and buckets of fresh-cut fall branches.

This airy space, with its lofty ceiling, exposed beams, and undressed windows, is any sun lover's dream. Even if you don't have this much square footage, you can re-create the spirit in details. The white wicker furniture boasts a bright mix of patterns that recall the colors of a cloudless day. Summer-inspired accessories, including a model sailboat and a plant-filled wicker basket, carry on the spirit of the season all year long. On Indian summer days, French doors welcome in the breeze, as does the ceiling fan.
