If your family is like most, you have a rapidly expanding collection of CDs and DVDs -- as well as the predicament of where to put them all. More often than not, family CD collections tend to get "stored" in a teetering pile perched precariously next to the stereo system, with DVDs tossed at random in a drawer in the TV cabinet. But now it's easier than ever to integrate your movies and music into your home's decor, thanks to a growing selection of stand-alone pieces that make as much storage sense as they have style impact. Once you have chosen where you will keep your collection, think carefully about which organizational system makes the most sense for your family, whether to sort them by genre, alphabetically, or by artist or director. Finally, be sure to choose a storage system that leaves plenty of room for growth. Put it somewhere that is not exposed to high heat or humidity, both of which can damage discs.
