Wearing Winter White
Snow White
Forget the old adage that you can't wear white after Labor Day. This season, designers have broken that rule big-time! Not sure how to incorporate white into a cold-weather wardrobe? Try our 10 easy ideas:
1. Consider fabric. White linen and twill are too summery for winter; white wool and flannel are just right.
2. Think color. Go for creamy, warm whites instead of bluish-whites, which can be harsh in dreary winter light.
3. Start simple. A winter-white crewneck sweater can top jeans and pants for the office; plus, it works with all colors, from black to blue to brown.
4. Try white leather. Once the bane of all fashion followers, white leather can look chic. Go for a glossy white leather coat or belt. (But don't even think about white leather shoes!)
5. Pair white with color. Neutrals are natural choices to wear with white, but to mix things up, pair white with red, pink, or icy blue.
