Before you grab your Velcro rollers -- the experts' must-have tool for creating big, luscious volume -- "flip your hair upside down and blow it until it's almost dry," says Adrian De Berardinis, a salon owner in New York City. Medium to large rollers create the most volume, but if your hair isn't long enough to wrap around the entire roller, don't worry -- a smaller size will also get the job done. You can roll and set all of your hair, but placing just three or four rollers at the crown and one on either side of your head works, too. Anderson recommends rolling pieces that are no wider than the width of the roller, and for maximum height always pulling the hair straight up before rolling it. Secure each roller with a clip and mist with hair spray. Now, let it set for at least 10 minutes. "The longer you wait, the better," says Mena.
