Double Processing, Color Commitment, and Product OverloadDon't Double-Dip
Doubling up on chemical processes, such as highlighting and relaxing, or perming and coloring, will leave your hair begging for mercy. Be kind; never submit your hair to more than one harsh process at a time.
While changing your hair color can be fun, the process of applying, taking out, and re-depositing pigment into hair is one of the most damaging hair offenses there is. Work with your colorist to find, and commit to, your best hair color look.
It's easy to be lured by the marketing appeals of new hair care and styling products, but hair doesn't need all the hoopla. Minimize the amount of product you put in hair, as too much can lead to shine dulling build-up that weighs hair down. Lighten the load, even wash hair less frequently, and your hair will look better for it.
