Why It Works: Over time, our features (such as our eyes, cheeks, and lips) droop a bit, and wearing your hair full with chunky layers helps counteract this aging effect. "Hair is meant to be seen -- it creates a better frame for your face," says Jonathan Antin, of the Jonathan Salons in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, who has worked with Julia Roberts and Kate Bosworth in the past.
How to Get It: Whether you're adding body to your stick-straight hair or enhancing your natural fullness, layer a styling product, such as a texturizing paste or shine serum, over a volumizing product and work this styling cocktail through wet hair. Dry with a diffuser or, if you have the time, allow it to air-dry. For an even more dramatic, defined look with less frizz, touch up key pieces with a curling iron.
