Why It Works: Long hair is the hairstyle most synonymous with youth but in reality it's tricky to pull off -- at any age. And once you're older it becomes even harder, particularly if your hair is several inches past your shoulders or all one length -- both can drag your face down. Adding a few long layers, however, gives the hair extra bounce, volume, and texture, and makes it look sexier in the process.
How to Get It: This look calls for loads of shine and a bit of texture. First, comb a leave-in conditioner into your wet hair, which will add moisture while helping with styling. Then blow-dry with a big, round brush until it's fairly straight. Finish with a dab of styling cream, paying extra attention to any scraggly ends.
