The dog days of August are the time to embrace your hair's natural texture, which means no struggling with blow-dryers or straightening irons. "It's a lost battle, fighting humidity in the summer," says Luca Blandi, senior stylist at the Oscar Blandi Salon, in New York City. The more moisture you can infuse your dry, delicate curls with, the better, so shampoo only a few times a week (dryness can lead to even more frizz). An intensive conditioner will hydrate and weigh your hair down slightly, especially around the hairline and on the ends, which tend to be the driest parts. Finish with curl-enhancing gel and leave-in conditioner: Scrunch them through curls, arrange in place, and then leave hair alone. Your ringlets will dry without frizz, and your hair's natural texture will shine through beautifully!
