How to Create a Fishtail Braid
Get in on the braid trend with this classic look.
The fishtail braid is chic and simple and can be achieved in a few easy steps. Before you begin, make sure your hair is completely dry. Tease the root by the crown. Then pull your hair into a ponytail into the right side of your head. Next, split the ponytail into two ponytails. To begin braiding, take a small section of the hair from the ponytail in your right hand and wrap it around to the ponytail in your left hand. Do the same technique with the section of hair from the ponytail in your left hand. Alternate sections from each ponytail until you reach the bottom of your hair. The key is to keep everything hold together tightly. To get a really defined fishtail braiding, use small strands of hair. The smaller the strands, the better the braid will look. When you reach the bottom of the braid, secure it with an elastic band. Then cut and remove the top rubber band and you're ready to go.
